In an increasingly polarized world, rural areas are also the scene of hate speeches and tensions that break coexistence and respect for human rights and the natural environment. But, and if instead of seeing it as an unsurpassable challenge, we make it an opportunity to transform society from the root?

Designed as a living and accessible resource, this guide is intended for professionals, activists and organizations committed to the construction of a peace culture. Here you will find concrete ideas, strategies and proposals to reduce violence in rural areas and promote a model of coexistence based on non-violence and mutual respect.

Created from the collective work of more than 34 entities and institutions of Catalan ruralities, this guide collects reflections and practical tools to address the roots of hate and violence. The starting point was the Catalan Forum for Peace, where more than 80 people shared ideas and experiences to jointly imagine a more just and harmonic future.
