Culture

We design and produce cultural events, articulating the people of the ruralities that express a voice of hope and celebrate the paradigm that we are building together.

Can the culture of a people exist without being woven by the people themselves?

Culture is the living language with which communities express, resist and transform. In a constantly changing world, culture is a tool of disruption and rooting, which reconnects people with the territory and also between them. At times of uncertainty, the past becomes a reference to the future: the more we understand our roots, the better we can face the current challenges. In Resilience.Earth, we promote culture as a space for transrural dialogue, where the exchange between rural identities generates cohesion and collective creativity. Initiatives such as Kerretania, Karme Fest or Iltiŕ Gathering are examples of how cultural energy can be analysed to strengthen social links and the feeling of belonging.

We believe that culture has the power to cure invisible wounds, especially in a context of climate crisis and youth unrest. Its regenerative force arises in the ability to start collective imagination processes and explore more just and equitable narratives. But today, culture is often kidnapped by institutions and the cultural industry, disconnecting it from communities. This causes a separation between the youth and wisdom of previous generations and a cultural amnesia that affects mental health. Culture, to be transformative, must be woven by the people itself, maintaining a real connection with their needs and aspirations.

In addition, culture opens spaces for gender diversity, culture and neurodivergence, promoting mutual inclusion and understanding. When culture is an active force, it promotes resilience, solidarity and community renewal, creating spaces where past and future were reconciled.

“Working with the Resilience.Earth team at the Iltir Meeting in Mieres (2024) was an unforgettable experience. We joined and coordinated to make a show in which the most important thing was to create it with the people of the place!"
