Migration

We work to create the conditions for migrant people to develop in our reality, and to train local people so that they can transcend challenges and take initiative at a time of abrupt cultural change.

If each new person is viewed as a threat, what is really blocked: what they come to offer or our ability to welcome?

Migration is often not an election, but a response to structural, cultural and direct violence that pushes people to move to survive. In a world where inequalities and climate, economic and political crises, often driven by global North dynamics, generate migratory flows, it is essential to recognize the deep causes that drive these displacements. From Resilience.Earth, we work to transform the migration process into a worthy and enriching experience, creating foster spaces that not only offer immediate support, but also address the systemic injustices that perpetuate these global crises.

We accompany people and communities in their process of rooting and dignification, from projects that strengthen community cohesion to initiatives that promote intercultural dialogue and the repair of historically unequal relationships. Our work focuses on building foster spaces based on mutual respect, intersectionality and social justice. As our societies adapt to global challenges, it is crucial to integrate the various identities that arrive, especially the second generations of migrants, which are often excluded by their hybrid identities. If we do not accommodate these multiple identities, the tension that is generated can become structural violence, perpetuating exclusion and hindering social cohesion.

Migrade people, especially those of the second generation, can bring great value to the communities that host them, but this will only be possible if we treat them as active and valuable members of society by evaluating their flexibility and personal resilience. If we welcome them as individuals with resources, capabilities and potential to contribute to society, we will generate more diverse, resilient and innovative communities. The value of human diversity manifests when we create spaces where everyone can develop, learn and offer their knowledge and experiences to improve collective well-being. If, instead, we treat them as charges, we will ignore their capabilities and possibilities, making them a social weight that perpetuates marginalization and exclusion. Only when we recognize migrants as an essential part of our social fabric, we can transform migration into an opportunity to regenerate both displaced lives and the territories that host them, advancing towards a more equitable and harmonic society.
