Youth

Through the Fire Pegasus program we create the conditions for young people to develop projects that empower them, and accompany them in their personal and collective challenges.

When youth is empowered, what really changes: how does it act or how does it understand itself in the world?

When youth is empowered, changes do not occur only in actions, but in the way young people perceive themselves in relation to the world. In a context of diversity—gender, sexual orientation, neurodivergence and racialization—empowerment involves a deep process of recognizing one's identities and their connection with others. To the extent that youth empowers their voice and place in society, they challenge the structures they have wanted to define and limit it. Diversity is not just a set of differences to tolerate, but a source of wealth and potential that can transform the way we relate to others and ourselves.

Programmes such as Pegasus of Fire of the Generalitat de Catalunya represent a response to this need for empowerment. This program offers accompaniment to young people, providing the tools and support necessary to transform their realities. Through the creation of projects, the development of autonomy and mutual support, young people can be redefined from their shared experiences, establishing a stronger link with the community. Thus empowerment becomes a collective process where young people are able to co-create their place in society, shaping their personal account in the broader context of social fabric.

In this process, gender diversity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence and racialization becomes a transformative force for the community. When diverse identities are recognized and valued, a space is created where innovation and resilience can flourish. Voices that could previously be excluded or marginalized now have the opportunity to lead the construction of a more inclusive and equitable future. Diversity provides a capacity for adaptation and cohesion that enriches social, cultural and economic processes, creating a more just-connected society. At this time of change, youth does not only act, but question the basis of its own existence, with a renewed understanding of what it means to belong and contribute to the common good.
