Energy

We promote and accompany energy communities in their social and legal organization to adapt and evolve according to the needs of people and their context, becoming the dominant model of energy consumption and production.

If the future of energy depends on us, what makes us more resilient: the technologies we create or the consciousness of the power we have to transform our environment?

In Resilience.Earth, we believe that energy sovereignty involves a deep ecological and democratic transition, which goes beyond technology and includes the ability of communities to manage their own energy as natural ecosystems do. We accompany cooperatives and energy communities in the design of decentralized models that combine local renewable energy production with collective governance. Thus, dependence on energy monopolies is minimized and environmental impacts are reduced, adapting systems to the specific needs of each territory.

Energy communities are much more than tools to generate energy; they are areas of sovereignty and cohesion. Through participatory methodologies, we help create local energy infrastructures managed fairly and collectively. This integrated approach ranges from energy diagnosis to the implementation of regenerative projects, which not only reduce costs and emissions, but also strengthen social networks and promote energy justice, building a more inclusive and resilient energy system.

However, our speed of technological innovation in the fields of automation and digital technologies has sided with other forms of essential "technology": our cultural, social and governance practices. These have also been developed for millennia and are deeply adapted to the territory. In a world dominated by the search for new technologies, it is essential to reconnect with our "cultural technologies", since these guarantee the effectiveness of automation and digital technologies for social transformation. Thus, energy transition depends not only on technical innovation, but also on our ability to innovate in cultural practices that organize society and our relationship with the territory.

“When the neighbours of Montolivet decided to organize us to create the first Citizen Energy Community in the Garrotxa, the accompaniment of the Resilience Earth Cooperative was key to give us confidence, help us organize, know better every step we had to do to make us and all with the illusion of making a dream possible.”

- Elena Capdevila, promoter of the Cituadana Energy Community of Montolivet in the Garrotxa.
