Governance

We accompany communities and public administrations in the evolution of democracy, activating their inherent capabilities to transform their challenges into opportunities.

What happens when the voice of communities is integrated with that of the territory: what form does the government take?

Bioregional governance is a way to create a harmonic relationship between human life and nature, where territories are seen as living ecosystems that include human communities and their natural elements. This approach transcends political boundaries and focuses on the biological and cultural dynamics of each territory, involving various actors such as public administrations, companies and communities in collective decision processes. In Resilience.Earth, we are referents in bioregional governance and territorial resilience, working on river stewardship projects and working in the territorial field to seize the logic of landscape units, to protect and regenerate these ecosystems through the participation of people.

Incorporating the rights of nature in this governance model means recognizing that rivers, forests and mountains have an inherent value beyond their usefulness to humans. This perspective allows the design of solutions that integrate ecosystems in decision making, creating an inclusive and regenerative approach to land management. Through bioregional governance, communities can adapt flexibly to natural dynamics, improving the resilience of territories.

This approach also reinforces local democracy and cooperation networks, creating structures that not only protect resources, but also regenerate them. The ability to adapt to the bioregional process allows communities to face global challenges locally, creating a resilient and regenerative system that balances human and natural needs. Thus, the territories become more self-managed and prepared to deal with the changes of the systemic crisis.

“Resilience Earth accompanied us for four wonderful days of strategic planning and organizational development. They understood the needs of a diverse organization and presence in multiple locations, and offered a face-to-face meeting of very enriching team. They demonstrated great skill in creating a safe environment, where diverse teams can open and speak confidently about sensitive issues that are essential to the organization's long-term health and culture. ”
