“We need to collectively build hopeful futures

I am Jan Pol Tarruell, born and raised in Sabadell and currently in a period of rooting in the Vall d’en Bas and La Garrotxa. I am a curious person, eager to learn, know and discover new ways of understanding and inhabiting the world that allow us to build hopeful, fair, resilient futures that are worth living.

I trained in Economics with the desire to understand the systems that organize our society and obtain tools to face the challenges that we face today. In this process, I missed more critical and diverse views, which led me to discover the Social and Solidarity Economy, from where I began to discover a way of understanding the economy at the service of life.

In recent years, I have been weaving a life and professional career linked to regenerative and community projects, both in Catalonia and in international contexts in South America. This journey has allowed me to experience ways of life and organization that put the land and the community at the center, and has reaffirmed the need to take root to contribute in a committed way to the place I live.

I am passionate about generating and accompanying collective processes with meaning. I have experience in the world of leisure education, project coordination and management, economic management, funding research, group facilitation and training. I am especially interested in creating spaces for learning and action where people can deploy their potential and connect with shared purposes, to generate rooted, creative and transformative proposals.

I join Resilience because I want to continue developing my capacities to be an active part of processes that make possible the futures I dream of.
